New Exhibition: “Architectural Dialogues” by Sergei Usik at Domina St. Petersburg Art Gallery
On June 6th, we open the exhibition “Architectural Dialogues” by Sergei Usik at the Domina St. Petersburg Art Gallery. The opening event will feature an engaging lecture, “Journey from Venice to St. Petersburg,” by Italian architect Gabriele Valentinuzzi.
Sergei Usik is an acclaimed master of pastel and a subtle landscape painter with a strong international reputation. Supported by our partner gallery, 9MUSES, his works will be exhibited at the Domina St. Petersburg Art Space from June 4th to July 30th.
The “Architectural Dialogues” exhibition creates a unified artistic space of mirror cities—Venice and St. Petersburg.
Venice is a city of inspiration. It’s no wonder several cities worldwide, including St. Petersburg, proudly bear the honorary title “Northern Venice”.
What unites these cities? Where do they fundamentally differ? How do they preserve and develop their architectural heritage?
These questions will be answered by Italian architect Gabriele Valentinuzzi, who received his architectural education in Venice and has been living and working in St. Petersburg for over a decade! One might say he follows in the footsteps of his brilliant compatriots—the great architects who shaped the architectural image of Russia’s Imperial capital. The St. Petersburg-based architectural firm Studio Inventum, founded by Gabriele Valentinuzzi, prides itself on strictly adhering to the core principles of the Italian approach to design and construction: it’s not just about elegant architectural style but also innovative engineering solutions, conceptual unity of interior and exterior, and meticulous attention to every detail.
During the special event, visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions to the Italian architect and the St. Petersburg artist about their creative work and the parallels between the urban images of Venice and its eternal northern counterpart.
